Spend an early summer’s eve relaxing on the Lowry Beer Garden’s patio with the Lowry Foundation while benefiting our community. Ticket price includes a beer garden meal.  This year the Lowry Foundation will provide funding for Lowry Elementary’s Food For Kids Backpack Program – this is a signature program and is endorsed by the Food Bank of the Rockies.  There are many children at Lowry Elementary [over 80 this year] who qualify for free or reduced price meals.  These same kids often do not have access to proper meals from the time school closes on Friday until it reopens on Monday.  These backpacks bridge that gap and provide kid friendly, nutritious items that carry them through the weekend.  The proceeds from the event on June 5^th will help to fund this very important program.  Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children and can be purchased at:

Lowry Foundation Supports the Lowry Elementary School’s Food for Kids Backpack Program

The Lowry Foundation’s Board of Directors are pleased to announce that in 2014, our Community Grants program is supporting the “Food for Kids Backpack Program” at Lowry Elementary School.  The Food for Kids Backpack Program at Lowry Elementary School began when they realized that there were many children going without meals on weekends and holidays due to very poor financial situations. The School has many generous donors of non-perishable food items and money. They have also written many grants for additional funds. The backpacks that go home with the children contain food items to create about 6 meals, with snacks, and total approximately $150 worth of food items per week. The backpacks are filled on Friday mornings, delivered to those students who have requested one and are brought back on Monday mornings. Each fall, when the School has lots of veggies from their Victory Garden, the fresh vegetables are also packed in the backpacks.

The Lowry Foundation with support from Larimer Associates, will host The Lowry Beer Garden 2nd Anniversary Event on June 5th, from 5- 9pm to celebrate and to once again support the Lowry Foundation!  During the event, guests will enjoy food and Colorado craft beer. All proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit the Lowry Foundation and the Lowry Elementary School’s Foods for Kids Backpack Program.
